Pictograms
Pictograms should be used with care. Pictograms should be supported by written or oral communication. Pictograms should be performance tested on the population they are meant for.
Ros Dowes and Tina Ehlers at Rhodes University, South Africa have made very important research on pictograms and medicine. They presented their results at the FIP congress in 1999. Pharmaceutical Journal wrote an article about it. Link Article
